1000 Km of Algarve: the program 2009/06/25 15:37 1000 Km of Algarve: the program

Let's discover the 1000 Km of Algarve timetable. This night race, which will take place on Saturday night, is announced as an exceptional round and will be the highlight of a very complete show. There will be no less than six support races among which the CER, the Formula Le Mans, the Formula Renault 3.5...and a lot of other ones.

Under Portimao's sun, teams and drivers will meet for the first time since the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Further to a summer atmosphere, the third round of the season promises to be...very hot!

Following the cancellation of the decision n°21 of the panel of the stewards by the Sporting Court in Brussels, you will now be able to download the LMGT2 team, driver and manufacturer classifications after the 1000km of Spa.

All the Le Mans Series Team would like to congratulate the 2009 24 Hours of Le Mans participants, in particular the 38 teams who, thanks to their commitment in the series, share their love of Endurance throughout Europe, during the whole season. All gave the best of themselves to finish one of the most difficult races in the world. Some suffered disappointments, but under the tough law of sport: one man's joy is another man's sorrow!

Congratulations to all for their courage; the next meeting will be at the Portimao circuit, on August 1 and 2, for a night race which will bring back sweet memories to some!

The ACO President Jean Claude Plassart awarded Patrick Peter with the "Spirit of Le Mans" trophy, in the presence of ACO officials, team managers and journalists.

This trophy symbolises the work he has done, in close collaboration with the Automobile Club de l'Ouest, to promote the Le Mans Spirit all over the world. With Le Mans Classic, of now recognised success, and Le Mans Series which has exported the values of the 24 Hours of Le Mans over the last six years, to Europe.

Patrick Peter succeeds to Yves Courage, Don Panoz, Dr Ullrich and Jacky Ickx, other personalities rewarded for their representation of the “Le Mans Spirit”!
